The Company
Our clients are a market leader within the automotive and marine industries, boasting over 50 years within the industries, due to recent internal restructuring and organic growth they are now looking to recruit a Quality Engineer to join the quality teams
The Role
To assist in all APQP related activity to customer and the QS/TS standard and to provide support for the manufacturing activity.
To lead concern resolution/process improvement with cross functional teams including the provision of documentation for the control of products and processes.
The senior quality engineer must liaise with customers and provide on site support during situations.
Assistance in the development/maintenance of the quality system in line with the requirement of this post
Accountability
- To champion customer and internal concerns within al areas
- To pro-actively visit customer locations to resolve concerns and maintain a high level of customer confidence
- To provide quality management data as required by management in a timely manner and distribute to relevant departments
- To develop and monitor improvement plans in conjunction with other departments
- To manage the laboratory, overseeing customer specifications, running test projects and managing contractors
- To maintain quality documentation
- To ensure compliance with quality procedures and requirements
- To manage the production of PPAP submissions and approval of supplier PPAP's
- To undertake duties as directed by the quality manager including audits of the quality system
- To assist with the development of the quality system to meet the needs of TS16949, ISO 9001 PED ISO 14001
OR
This role will initially be on a trial basis where you will be employed by Austin Banks on a temporary contract for approximately 3 months
About You:
A relevant degree qualification is preferred CQI certificate in quality/diploma in quality with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience within the automotive with polymer/extrusion background FMEA.
G8D control plans, ISO9001, TS16949 APQP PPAP knowledge with excellent computer skills in excel, word, powerpoint
Internal and external auditing experience
Experienced in the use if basic lab equipment Understanding of engineering's drawings
Fully understand of SPC
Full clean UK driving licence
Six sigma trained to a minimum of Green Belt
